**Update Mar 17 2016** It now leaks as soon as you pour water in. It just runs out the bottom. We kept it stored nicely, upright, in the laundry room. Use was 2 times per week average. The vacuum still functions fine but the steam function has become useless. Sad news.
From the ease of assembly to the great work it does, this one just replaced a few items for cleaning up hard floors around the house. We used this a good month around the house before even attempting to do the review so we could give a great overview.
As we show in the video, most of the parts are already connected and just need to be snapped together. Keep in mind the measuring cup for the water tank is hidden deep in the box under the lower packaging materials. So make sure to pull that out too! We almost tossed it at first. The guide is easy to read and there are only really two buttons and the squeeze handle for daily operation. Changing pads will take a moment longer.
The inclusion of multiple types of pads makes than an easy purchase. It ships with four (4) throw away pads, a daily re-washable one and a heavy duty re-washable one. We tried the heavy duty scrubbing pad when we first started using it and it really got up everything that was stuck with the extra steam and a light scrub. We used the other washable pad for most instances except after a party. We then used the throw away pads (they say Swifter for Bissell) and got great results as well. The pads were easy to change as the clip holds it in place.
The vacuum has one mode, on or off. The container that catches the debris is easy to clear and dump. It does not hold a ton but will easily get you through huge messes and lots of daily uses before needing to be emptied. Unless you have shedding pets, then you will see the filter get covered so it will need to be cleared more often.
The steam has a low and high setting as we show in the video. You can really tell the difference between the two. Squeezing the trigger under the handle pushes out that steam. The actual tank is not giant. We were able to clear a large floor once on lo steam and not the whole thing on high. But for daily/couple times a week use we got in the habit of just topping it off when we used it. Then it is ready when needed. How much time you spend in one area, high and low modes and how slow you go all make differences so we hate to set a time or size limit as others have done.
Overall this is replacing a mop for everyday cleaning (this does not do huge spills) and it definitely is going to save on the hands and knees getting down and scrubbing often with the steam mode. Another win from Bissell.
